Winds is proud to be working on a pipeline of U.S. wind projects with
Acciona Energy, one of the world’s key players
in the development, construction, operation and maintenance of renewable
energy facilities. Although Acciona develops projects and engages in
considerable research in areas such as biodiesel, solar, biomass and
small hydroelectric, Acciona’s primary focus is wind power, a
field in which the company ranks third in the world in terms of installed
capacity. Acciona also designs and manufactures its own line of wind
turbines and is currently researching ways to produce hydrogen from
wind. World-wide, Acciona owns and/or operates approximately 4,000 MW
of wind power, of which 86 MW are in the US, and 60 MW in Canada. Acciona
also owns and/or operates 60 MW of hydro, 33 MW of bio-mass, 13 MW of
photovoltaic, 140 MW of cogen, and a variety of bio-fuels applications. |
