Tatanka
Wind Project
Global Winds
Harvest began developing the Tatanka Wind Farm in 2003. In 2005
we partnered with Acciona and three years later the $381
million project was online and delivering enough clean energy
to power over 60,000 homes.

The 180
megawatt Tatanka Wind Farm is comprised of 120 wind turbines,
with 59 turbines located in South Dakota and 61 turbines in
North
Dakota. The
electricity generated by Tatanka is sold into the Midwest
Independent Transmission System Operator, which delivers
electric power to a very large region of the upper
mid-western United
States and Canada. Spread across 14,080 acres of
land,
Tatanka
employs over twenty full time positions and provides revenues
to nearby North and South
Dakota communities
through investments in local infrastructure, lease arrangements
with local landowners, and tax revenues paid to
Dickey
County,
North
Dakota and McPherson County, South Dakota.
